Trump's Organization Sought to Bring In Nearly 200 Workers on Work Permits in 2025

The former president’s corporate entity accelerated its recruitment of foreign workers on temporary visas this period, even as his government was placing obstacles for other businesses attempting to do the same, a report released recently stated.

According to data from the US Department of Labor, the Trump Organization sought to bring in at least 184 foreign workers in the coming year for temporary positions at the US president’s Florida property, two golf clubs and his winery in Virginia.

The quantity of applications for H-2A and H-2B visas for workers including waitstaff, office assistants, housekeepers, kitchen staff and farm workers was the highest ever filed by the company, and increased from 121 in 2021, when Trump’s first term concluded.

It was also the fifth time in a decade that Trump had attempted to hire over a hundred overseas workers for seasonal jobs at his Florida resort, according to available data.

The revelation coincides with a crackdown on legal immigration by his administration that has included the implementation of a substantial charge on H1-B visas; extra scrutiny of the actions of the millions of people who already hold US visas; and restrictive new rules for foreign students and journalists.

In total, the Trump Organization aimed to hire over 560 foreign laborers over the five years Trump has been in the presidency, from 2017 to 2021 and during the upcoming year.

Significantly, Trump was criticized by some in the GOP this week for comments justifying the need for overseas employees when a company was unable to find people with “particular skills” to occupy particular roles.

“You can’t just say a nation is coming in, going to spend billions to build a facility, and going to recruit individuals off an jobless roster who have been unemployed in years, and they’re going to start producing their defense systems. It doesn’t work that effectively,” he stated to a interviewer after she suggested that foreign workers lower the pay of US workers.

The administration declined a inquiry for comment, and the Trump Organization did not provide an answer to an inquiry.
