David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Acclaimed writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.
A representative for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.
The publisher has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."
A Highly Successful Writing Journey
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
He has published more than 40 books altogether, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
